SRA Handbook: What You Need to Know

Introduction

The introduction of the new SRA Handbook on 6 October 2011 marked a new dawn in the approach adopted by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) to the regulation of both traditional legal practices and Alternative Business Structures (ABS). This practical course explains how Outcomes Focused Regulation (OFR) works and the impact this has on how the SRA regulates the legal sector. The course covers the new requirements for all regulated practices to appoint a Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) and a Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA). Delegates will learn about the new style SRA Code of Conduct with expert guidance on what has changed and receive key compliance tips. The course also includes an overview of the main changes which have been made to the SRA Accounts Rules (formerly the Solicitors Accounts Rules 1998).

This course is designed to meet the needs of partners, principals, directors, managers, COLP's, compliance/risk officers and practice managers.
